EXEO Group, Inc. (head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Tetsuya Funabashi, President), Daiwa Densetsu Corp. (head office: Sendai City, Miyagi; Hideki Obara, President), and SecondXight Analytica, Inc. (head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Hirokazu Takayama, President) announce that they have co-developed a new service that automatically generates meal plans with the help of AI based on the NUTRIMATE nutritious food service management system currently provided by Daiwa Densetsu Corp., in preparation for the development of a new healthcare business.
For medical and nursing facilities, meal planning is typically labor-intensive due to the need to create menus based on patient information, food supply and other factors that change daily. Moreover, in meal planning, numerous factors must be considered, making it a difficult task to hand over.
By using a large natural language AI and a combinatorial optimization technology, we succeeded in automatically generating menus that closely resemble those created by humans and diverse meal plans that avoid serving the same dishes repeatedly (preventing monotony) by having an AI learn a massive amount of data including data about nutrition, cost and various restrictions and other conditions specific to each hospital.
Implementing this function can reduce the time spent planning one month of meals from two weeks to just two hours, drastically reducing field work, and it enables the automated proposal of meal plans that are free from combinations of existing hospital dishes (patent applied for).
