Connecting the Future of Healthcare

Providing AI Meal Planning Services in the Healthcare Sector

EXEO Group, in collaboration with Daiwa Densetsu Kogyo Co., Ltd. and Second Sight Analytica Co., Ltd., has jointly developed an AI-powered automatic meal scheduling service, aiming to advance new healthcare businesses. This service is based on the “NutriMate” nutritional meal management system provided by Daiwa Densetsu Kogyo Co., Ltd.
Traditionally, meal planning tasks in medical and nursing care institutions required significant effort, as they had to adapt daily to changes in patient information and ingredient procurement status. Moreover, meal planning involved many considerations, making it challenging to pass down the task.
To address this, we successfully automated the generation of “natural menus close to human intuition” and “variety-rich meal schedules that prevent repetition (avoiding monotony)” by extensively training on nutritional constraints, cost constraints, variation constraints, and other hospital-specific conditions. We utilized large-scale natural language AI and combinatorial optimization techniques.
With this feature, tasks that used to take about two weeks to create a month’s worth of menus can now be completed in approximately two hours, significantly reducing on-site workload. Additionally, it is possible to automatically propose meal schedules that are not limited to existing combinations of dishes (patent pending).
