Notice Regarding Silent Partnership Investment in a Green Building Development Fund

EXEO Group, Inc. (head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Tetsuya Funabashi, President; hereafter the “Company”) announced today that it made a silent partnership investment in Green Building PJ1 GK (hereafter, the “Fund”), whose goal is the development of property enabling the acquisition of three-star or higher certification in the BELS* energy efficiency evaluation system regarding the improvement of the energy efficiency of existing buildings.
Through many years of experience in equipment work, the Company has acquired the expertise needed to improve the energy efficiency of existing buildings, which is work the Fund aims to implement. The Company also plans to proactively participate in construction to be implemented by the Fund.

The Government of Japan announced a cabinet decision on a Plan for Global Warming Countermeasures in October 2021 towards the achievement of carbon neutrality by 2050. For the commercial sector (buildings including office buildings and commercial facilities), the government set a goal of reducing CO2 emissions from energy sources by 51% from the FY2013 level by FY2030 and other goals. The initiatives to be pursued by the Fund are aimed at implementing environmental measures for buildings other than those that are newly built, by arranging the optimal energy efficiency improvement work based on the current specifications and functions of each existing building in accordance with the above government policies, which will encompass a wide range of projects. Instead of rebuilding, which has been common in the construction industry, the Fund will promote energy efficiency improvement work for existing buildings in an attempt to improve their environmental value.
