Awarded the 2022 Outstandingly Skilled Worker (Contemporary Master Craftsman)

Contributing to the Development of Gold Medalists in the WorldSkills Competition

Takuya Nakayama, an employee at EXEO Group, Inc. (head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Tetsuya Funabashi, President), was awarded the 2022 Outstanding Technician (commonly known as a "Contemporary Master Craftsman") by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
This award targets craftsmen active in the world of technical skills and young people who have their sights on this world. It is awarded annually to improve the status and skill level of technicians and to pass on excellent skills. The award is given to technicians with outstanding skills and who are seen as leaders in their fields, divided into 20 categories in total, including metal working, machinery and equipment assembly and repair, tailoring, carpentry and more. Nakayama received the award in recognition of his achievements in training young employees in optical communications equipment installation.
The EXEO Group will continue contributing to society by strengthening and improving our technical strength and by training outstanding technicians.

Reasons Behind the Award: Through his many years of experience in optical communications equipment installation, Nakayama developed a method to simultaneously improve installation quality and work efficiency by optimizing the on-site work process and installation degradation factors, and he has also committed himself to domestic and overseas work sites with disaster recovery work and more. Utilizing his experience as a gold medal recipient in national competitions, he has guided and produced five gold medalists at the WorldSkills Competition and 38 medalists at national competitions (more than 70% entering winning medals). This accomplishment is unrivaled. In recent years, he has taken on the role of expert from Japan in international competitions and has greatly contributed to the international standardization of relevant skills.
