Notice That the Purifying Ritual for Safety and Groundbreaking Ceremony Associated with the Construction of the Woody Biomass Power Plant in Ashikaga-shi, Tochigi Prefecture Was Held

EXEO Group, Inc. (head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Tetsuya Funabashi, President; hereinafter "the Company") announced that on July 22, 2022, the Company and Ashikaga Eco Power Corporation (head office: Yamashita-cho, Ashikaga-shi, Tochigi, President: Iwao Kikuchi) held a purifying ritual for safety and a groundbreaking ceremony, praying for safety in the construction of the Woody Biomass Power Plant (Yamachita-cho, Ashikaga-shi, Tochigi) which is planned to begin operating in March 2024.

Approximately 70 people including Mr. Naohide Hayakawa, the mayor of Ashikaga-shi, Tochigi, Tetsuya Funabashi, the president of the Company which owns the plan, and other guests including people involved in the construction of the plant attended the purifying ritual for safety, where Mr. Numajiri, the chief priest of Ooiwasan Tamonin Bishamonten Saishoji (temple) conducted the purifying ritual for safety and the groundbreaking ceremony.
With the cooperation of the parties involved in the forestry industry and chip manufacturers in the Tochigi prefecture area, the Company will build a system that effectively uses unused and general materials and landscaping waste generated in the surrounding area at the Biomass Power Plant, which is operated using only nature-based woody biomass, in cooperation with Ashikaga-shi, to work to revitalize the region's economy and support the healthy restoration and growth of forests.

・Location: 2577-5, Mukouyama, Yamashita-cho, Ashikaga-shi, Tochigi, etc.
- Constructor: EXEO Group, Inc. and Ashikaga Eco Power Corporation
- Generator output: Approx. 7,000 kW
- Assumed annual energy production: Approx. 55.44 million kWh (equivalent to the annual energy consumption in 15,000 households)
- Fuel type: Wood chips collected in neighboring areas (unused materials, general materials, and landscaping waste)
- Fuel use: Approx. 85,000 tons per year
- CO2 reduction: 24,000 tons per year
- Commencement of commercial operations: March 2024 (plan)
